Report 30/2/16

February 28
Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities and not recommended for crossing bars by boat and rock fishing. Sharpen your skills in the estuary and river systems.

The rivers have fished really well this week. The bass are in form in the upper reaches and along Labalsa Park along Pt Cartwright we have seen and heard of some great varieties of fish. Soft plastics, prawns and small pilchards arfe doing the damage with Zman slim swimz my choice but also the best colour would have to go to motor oil in the grub or paddletail style soft plastics. Moses perch, bream and small estuary cod are hitting lures along the bridges and jetties. The basin has seen some whiting on hard bodied dog walkers and poppers with beach worms killing it down there.
