March 1
The local rivers will be on fire with the scattered showers feeding the system and flushing the prawns a little. The trevally, bream and moses perch are on, hiting soft plastics and prawns as the choice of bait. In the lower reaches of the Maroochy and Mooloolah we are seeing a good number of blue swimmer crabs, whiting and flathead. The Pumicestone passage has got quite a bit of prawn action and whiting are on with a few big elbow slappers caught down around Golden Beach.

March 2
There has been word of some great fish being caught around the place with Mangrove Jack on livies reported at Kawana Island and Golden Trevally on prawns and Chicken breast of all things, Dart and Whiting have been around along Kawana beach as the gutters have devloped well since the big swell last week.

March 3
The rivers and estuaries will appreciate a good run on the fish in the lower reaches. The fresh water trickling down after the rain will provide some good nutrients for the bream and whiting down stream. I went for an expedition yesterday in the far upper reaches of the Mooloolah. The water was very muddy. Had 2 hits with one bass and surprisingly a small flathead.
