If you are mad keen for some fish, there's still plenty of fun to be had in the rivers. The rain will be lighting up the food chain and the crabs will be keen to feed. Put the crab pots in deep pockets away from the main river flow and you should be in with some luck. Burley will be an asset as the fresh water run off will make visibility very difficult for the fish. Oily flesh baits such as Mullet, Bonito, slimy mack and mack tuna will work well in these conditions. Ganged Pillies are always a go to in these conditions too.

The fresh water into the river system hasn't deterred some fish. There have been reports of some little flathead and big bream closer tpo the mouth of the local waterways. Scented soft plastics and oily strip baits have been the key to success with visibilty minimal for the fish.

After the recent weather conditions and the passing of the New Moon the fishing from the rivers and coastline to the offshore should all be in a good fishing way. This is the weather we needed to replenish the food chain. With all this dirty water in the rivers there still have been plenty of Bream caught with the occasional flathead around the mouths of the inlets.
