July 6
Morning report: There are lots of lovely fish being caught but a stones throw from land lately with some big Snapper,Yellow-tail Kingfish,Cobia and other assorted Reef speices being taken at the Gneerings .Coolum Reef and Currimundi Reef, Pillchards are a good bait but if you can Jig some livies thats whats going to get you your trophy fish. The rivers have been performing exceptionally as well with some good numbers of Flathead and Jewfish as well as the ever present winter Bream which are not only in good numbers but good sizes as well with live herring being my Fav Bait.
Afternoon report: There have been reports today of some bigger models of Bream getting around the Mooloolaba river falling for mullet gut and small pilchard baits while along the beaches there have been reports of Tailor, bream and flathead with dart to keep you busy between fish, we are still in that prime post new Mooon period where the fish should be firing, i have been seeing a lot of pics and footage of Jewfish being caught around the place with big live-bait reportedly doing the business.

Beach fishing should be ideal and the river fishing reports have been good also with jewfish and bream at night and Tailor at dawn on the beach. There have been reports of some Big bream being caught along the beach and the odd Tailor in amoungst them and if your really lucky and willing to brave the cold you may even be rewarded withe a jewfish as they are rumoured to be moving along the beach at the top of the tide at night.

There have been lots of Whiting and Dart caught along Kawana beach and lots of big Bream in the Mooloolaba river, there have been a huge amount of keen anglers heading down to the beach this afternoon with hopes of hooking a jewfish on the runin tide tonight. And our pictures today are of a healthy feed of bream taken by local fisherman Stephen who braved the cold the other night to catch this great feed of bream. These catches are common at this time of year if you know where to go and what to use for bait and over the next month or so these larger fish should be around in good numbers.
