There are good reports of catches on and off shore, some quality tailor off the rock walls along with your usual bream and flathead. Good size snapper are still being caught off the reefs. There have been the odd Jew still around. Good numbers of Flathead up the river, Bream and Whiting on the run in tide. A report came in this morning of a young chap bagging just outside of the mouth with Sweetlip and Snapper.

The rivers and beaches will have the best week on hand before the end of winter. There are plenty of baitfish entering the river systems and the influx of large bream, trevally and flathead are around to coincide with the near change in seasons. Offshore has been quiet, but with the rough weather there has been a change of species with plenty of Amberjack, Jew and big spangled emperor. There have also been some good size Snapper and Pearlies off into the deeper water.
Andrew got these flathead fishing out of the Maroochy on a Sunday morning.

Morning report: Fishing the late afternoon high tides this week should produce some cracking fish land based and offshore. There is a fantastic gutter and a deep hole about 200m south of the Pt Cartwright headland. This will be the spot to try for a Jew around the high tide. The estuaries are holding some fantastic fish flathead with the Maroochy River cleaning up recently. The Mooloolah River has had some luck off the boat ramps, the trawlers and in the canals for bream, trevally, flathead and whiting.
Afternoon report: The Beaches have formed some good gutters with small pillies the choice for anglers along the beach and rivers. Rose Trinh sent in this pic of a tasty bag caught off Currimundi last night.
