Report 20/2/17

February 18
The outter reefs of the Banks and Caloundra wide are holding trigger fish, parrot fish, Tuskies and husser in good numbers. There are a few cobia getting around caught at random along the inside and outter reefs. The Mackerel are in good numbers but are hiding under small bait balls that aren't being menaced by birds. The boat ramps are busy this morning but should be a little more quiet by mid morning.
The rivers are holding plenty of small trevally in the early morning and late evening. Whiting, flathead and bream are the bread and butter species caught regularly with our waterways. Use soft plastics, prawns, beach worms and mullet fillets for them.

Offshore had mixed catches over the weekend with great reports off Noosa for spanish mackerel but we were limited to a few spotties here off Mooloolaba. There are some good catches of tuskies and parrot out wide and there have been some billfish caught aswell. The top bait over the weekend was the small Garfish we have in stock trolled slow and a floated small pilly out the back on the drift both picking up mackerel.
The rivers should pick up with the rain that we had overnight but lets hope we get some more of it. The jacks will fire back up and the crabs will hopefully get on the march. Bream, whiting and flathead were the main targeted species with a few bar-tailed flatties caught along Labalsa Park.
