Lakes Entrance
Town jetties are producing trevally and tailor, best bait being pilchard. The Floating Dragon jetty for silver whiting on pilchard. Off shore could be a bit rough but six mile reef for pinkies on pilchard. Gummies are closer to the beach taking squid as preferred bait.

Lake Tyers
Bream and tailor are still around the islands and up the Nowa Nowa Arm towards Devils Hole. Best bait prawn and lures. Some flathead are about but you need to work for them.

Mitchell River
The Cut, Two Bells and up towards Shadoof Lodge for bream taking cut crab, prawn and worm. Try the highway bridge for mullet on worm.

Tambo River
Bream are out and about from the river mouth. The boat ramp and rough road are the best spots. Preferred bait being sandworm and shrimp.

Nicholson
From the mouth of the river, the highway bridge and to the Cliff’s are best for bream. Bait of choice being prawn, worm and shrimp.

Metung
Bell Point, towards Nungurner Jetty and Baxter Island for whiting, flathead and bream. Best results on prawn, worm and soft plastics. Try the town jetties for mullet on worm.

Paynesville
Newlands Arm is the best spot for tailor using paravan rig and silver lures. Ocean Grange for bream on prawn. Off shore for snapper on pilchards. Gummies are also out and about taking squid.

Holland’s Landing
Best spots for bream are in Mc Lennan Straits, Seacombe Landing, Wood Pile. Hollands Landing and town creek. Best bait being prawn and worm.

Marlo
The Brodribb River is producing good bream, estuary perch, luderick and mullet. Best results using worm and prawn. Beach is still good for salmon on pilchards and poppers. Off shore for gummies and flathead.

Bemm River
The entrance is still open. Bream are in the river and lake, best results using sand worm and peeled prawn. Surf is still producing salmon on pilchards and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet
The river is producing 36cm bream on worm and shrimp. The lake has pinkies and trevally. Best results on blue bait, white bait and worm. Pelican Point for flathead chasing lures.

Mallacoota
Fishing is a bit quiet in the lakes. Gipsy Point the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers are best for bream and flathead on worm as preferred bait.

Omeo High Country
Anglers Rest, the Mitta Mitta and the Livingstone are good spots for trout with best results using metal wobblers, celta spinners and soft plastics.
