Cooby Dam
The fishing is slowly picking up at Cooby with the cod on the bite and a good yellowbelly bite happening around the buoy line and in the deep water on the Ecogear ZX blades just lightly jigged off the bottom. These same deep areas have been producing fish on saltwater yabbies and live shrimp also.

Boondooma Dam
Some great fishing at Boondooma with both Stuart and Boyne arms fishing well in around the timbers. Casting spinnerbaits and blades for the resident fish while the schooling bass have been taking the 3inch grubs and other curl tailed soft plastics. The best schooling areas are the usual haunts Pelican Point and Lisa-Gangs ledge and anywhere around the Jjunction. These areas will also be the best places for bait fishing again saltwater yabbies and live shrimp for both bass and yellowbelly.

Somerset Dam
The fishing has been very tuff this week, although schools have been easy to find, getting them to attack has proved difficult, Some good yellows in the timber on Saltwater yabbies and live shrimp. But lures have defiantly seen better days.

Border Rivers
The river fishing over the Easter break is going to be the best its been in a long tim.e Several good reports of quality cod and yellowbelly starting to be caught on everything from spinnerbaits to top waters. The Macintyre and Dumaresq rivers are looking great with the flow slowing right down and visibility clearing up nicely. Further south towards Emmaville it gets even better and the Severn river is also fishing really well all great rivers that will definitely be worth a look over the next couple months

Copeton Dam
Some awesome fishing just starting to kick in at Copeton. If you manage to get there over the Easter break you will be sure to land some memorable ones with reports starting to come in of some huge murray cod up to 122cm being landed along with several others over the metre mark this week. Mainly on spinnerbaits and large surface lures and most of the big fish being landed at night and into the early morning but still some good fish being taken during the day on both spinnerbaits and deep diving hardbodied lures.

Glenlyon Dam
Glenlyon also produced some good cod and yellowbelly over the past week with a couple cod over the metre landed there on large deep diving bibbed lures trolled along the steep edges and around the timbers. The numbers of fish haven’t been great but the quality has defiantly been there. Both Glenlyon and Copeton and great places to try for that ‘trophy fish’’.

Maroon Dam
This lake hasn’t been talked about to much in the past month or two but I know there has still been a surface bite early morning and some quality bass picked up on both soft plastics and small spinnerbaits casted to the weed edge around Pointro which is opposite the boat ramp. there has also been some smaller bass caught right up the back in the timbers.

Connelly Dam
Again, a place that doesn’t get to much of a mention but does fish quiet well. The boating rules keep people away but the structure in this lake makes for an awesome fishery I recommend this place for land base anglers or kayak fisherman there has been some nice cod landed recently on spinnerbaits

Tip of the week
Go with the flow when planning your next fishing trip, right now there seem to be a solid trend happening with big cod on the move. If you are interested in catching a trophy sized murray cod then the next couple of months are the prime time don’t wait too long. Make sure you pop in and check out our knowledge and selection of the Right lure for the Right location. Matching lures to regions is Vital.
