It has been a week of frustration for the outside fisho’s with the mackerel on and off the bite, and when you do hook one, it’s a race to boat it before those mongrel Sharks take it. Most of the Spotties and Spanish are coming in from Grassy but there have been a few in front of the Jail. Wahoo were in better numbers through the week along with one or two Cobia. One of the kayakers here at the moment caught a nice Sail Fish around the 30 kilo mark. Out wider the Dollies have been quiet off the FAD with only a few smaller fish reported. There has plenty of Mac Tuna about along with a few Long Tail Tuna. Fisho’s trying to catch something off the bottom have battled for the last few weeks with the odd Snapper and Pearl Perch hook ups. Live Slimies are not playing the game again this week.

Most of the action in the river is happening up river as far as Smithtown with some nice Flathead and Whiting coming in. Down towards the mouth Bream are along the walls with some Whiting around Jerseyville and Clybucca. School Jewfish have been reported at Rainbow and off the North wall on the run out tide. There has been good surface action with the Bass through the week up past Kempsey.

Smoky Beach has fished well for some nice Bream and Dart with a few Whiting and Tailor in the mix. Rock hoppers have done it tough with a few Tailor and Long Tail Tuna coming in.

Take care on the Bars
