Offshore
No offshore action this week with some massive swells stopping anyone from getting out of the harbour.

Beaches
A few large salmon being caught off the beaches in the big swell. Whole pilchards fished on the bottom with large surf sinkers taking the best fish. Try finding secluded beaches or ones with larger gutters that aren’t as prone to the silt from the swell for the best fishing.

Lake
Coul’s inlet a good land based spot to try for flathead and bream. Live bass yabbies or prawns fished on a running sinker rig taking the best numbers of fish. Small soft plastic grubs or paddle tails working well to when fished slowly on a light jighead.

Fisheries jetties another good place to try with bream, trevally, tailor, gurnard and flounder being taken by anglers fishing with bait. Fillets of pilchard or blue bait and peeled prawns taking the fish. The channel here is only a few meters away from the end of the jetty so long casts are not necessary.

Anglers are also catching a few luderick here as well using a float and green weed rig. Fish as close as possible to the pylons as there is no flow to push the rig along.

Goodwin Sands still very productive for anglers fishing the base of the drop offs. Flathead, bream and trevally have all been taken by anglers fishing with both lures and baits. Peeled prawns the best bait and small soft plastics or vibes in natural colours working best. Fish slow and light for the best bite.

Flathead a little slow after the rain. Numbers still being taken by anglers fishing in the Narrows with small prawn style lures. These guys will begin to shut down soon so make the most of it while they are still feeding.

A lot of bream beginning to move into the deep rock walls at Cape Horn. Bait anglers doing best. Bass yabbies and peeled prawns working well here.
