Lakes Entrance
The surf beach for salmon on blue bait. The footbridge for silver and king George whiting taking pipies and worm. Still the odd squid about. Try the town jetties for luderick. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for pinkies, blue eyed trevally, nannygai, morwong and snapper all taking pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers
The best spot for bream is around the power lines and the islands. The odd tailor are cruising about, best bait prawn and lures. The surf beach is worth a try for salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Mitchell River
The Backwaters are producing good bream, with Grassy Banks a good second spot. Best results using sandworm and prawn.

Tambo River
From Bennet’s Brook, up to the Clues Bluff and fishing from the bank down Reynolds Road are good spots for bream. There are young bream about, baits of choice are sandworm, prawn and soft plastics.

Nicholson
The strait is producing good bream with worm as preferred bait.

Metung
The rock wall near the Yacht Club, the Boardwalk and up towards Chinaman’s Creek, the town jetties, Shaving Point and Lake King Jetty are all good for bream and mullet. The best baits are frozen prawn and pipis.

Paynesville
The strait for mullet. Bream are in the river. The backside of Raymond island for whiting, best baits being pippies, worm and prawn. Try the surf for salmon.

Holland’s Landing
Try the Strait and the southern shore of Lake Victoria at Loch Sport jetties for bream, mullet and tailor. The baits to use are worm, prawn and metal lures, best results towards evening.

Marlo
In the river for mullet, bream and luderick. The surf for salmon and tailor, using worm, prawn, pilchard, poppers and lures. Offshore for a mixed bag using squid and pilchard.

Bemm River
Bream are in the lake taking soft plastics and prawn. The surf for salmon with pilchard and poppers for best results.

Tamboon Inlet
The river and up to Furnell Landing is still producing bream on worm and prawn. The Football Ground for pinkies. The surf for salmon.

Mallacoota
Bream are about the Bottom Lake taking soft plastics and prawn. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers. Drifting on the bottom using lures for bream and flathead. The main wharf at Gypsy Point for tailor using blue bait and prawn for best results.

Omeo High Country
Closed season.
