Report 20/7/18

So it's cold....well it is the middle of winter! Just got to survive the rest of today and most of Saturday and we should get a nice day Sunday to hit the water. There were a couple of ok days this week for anglers to get out and about and I've been told there are still a few fish willing to take a bait or lure in the right situation.

In The Shoalhaven there are a few flatties still biting but it has definitely quietened down from previous weeks. Since the westerlies have started the water has become clearer and colder, if that was at all possible! The good news is that there are still plenty of perch to be caught and some big bream have finally started to show in places like Broughton Creek and behind the island at Terara. With the clear water, long casts and light leader is a must in trying to trick these big blue nose tackle busters into taking your lure thus creating the next problem of trying to pull these fellas up before they reach their snag or rock which they know of it's exact location!

There were good numbers of bluefin caught the start of the week but Thursday saw hardly any boated from what we heard anyway. So it looks as though they may have done the old disappearing act again. Hmmmm, I wonder where they will turn up next? Hopefully not to far away! At some stage they have to eat so it's just a matter of someone being there in the spot when they pop up again and spreading the word ASAP. I'm sure Sunday will tell a story of where the action is if there is any. We still have plenty of trap bait and IQF pillies if you need to stock up and don't forget our 30% OFF all bluewater lures which runs through to the end of next week. This includes Trolling skirts, minnows, poppers, stickbaits & jigs so don't miss out!

There are still plenty of salmon on the beaches if you are just after your fishing fix with something that pulls a bit of line and performs aerial antics. The Samaki Torpedo metals are working well as too the Jackson Gallop Assists.

Pictured below are two cracking bluefin from last week which im sure we would all love to tangle with!
