It was one of those weeks where everybody battled to get a feed whether it was outside or in our estuaries and creeks. Blue water guys that fished the northern reefs found the odd Snapper off Grassy but a little further up north produced some fair Pearlies and Snapper if you worked for them. The Jail Grounds has a few Flathead on the gravel with Mowies and the odd Snapper off the reef. Leather Jackets are being found by the Charter guys trying out wider for some fish. Back in close, off the Light House Spanner Crabs are making a return with some crackers amongst them. Fish Rock is holding a few Kings but the numbers are not there at the moment.

The catch of the week was local Mick Miller’s 3.5 kilo Snapper up river off the Breakwall on Bream gear good job. These Blackfish are so finicky now, whether it be the river or the creek, there are stacks of them but they just do not want to bite. Holiday maker Damien Gough and his boys Ashton and Lucas from the Taree area fished the pylons of the bridge at Back Creek for a bag of good Bream using Poddy Mullet, that’s great fishing in that crystal clear water.

The Beaches and rock ledges were tough to fish through the week with the seas up a little. The odd Tailor have been caught along with a few nice Bream amongst the loads of small Dart on the beaches.
