Report 11/10/18

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Oct 12, 2018 4:19 pm

Another fine weekend forecast for this weekend should see plenty out on our rivers and lakes, with some good reports coming in.
The Murray has been rising for the past week and is sitting pretty high along with the Edward river and I've heard the Wakool is starting to drop at Kyalite.

THE MURRAY RIVER:
- Ben Spicer sent me a couple of photos of some nice yellas they caught fishing with shrimp in backwaters at Hattah last weekend, with Mikaela catching her first ever fish.
-The Belsar Island and Boundary Bend areas are still producing good numbers of yellas on small yabbies shrimp and worms.
- Campers at Nyah have picked up several yellas to 49cm on small yellas and a couple of black/white spinnerbaits.
- Locally at Swan Hill yellas have been caught between the Abbs and Brooks lane.
- The Koondrook area is still producing good size yellas on most baits and a few on trolled small hardbodied lures.

THE MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER:
- Some locals camped at Hay last weekend and landed some good size yellas to 6lb on worms.

THE KYALITE AREA:
- Vicki from the pub said that the yellas have been on the bite in both rivers for the past 2-3 weeks, with most fish caught on worms-scrubbies and crawlers.
- Stoney Crossing seems to be the hot spot at the moment using worms and shrimp.

LAKE BOGA:
- Quenton Davis spent tuesday afternoon chasing redfin on the lake with small rubber bibless vibes, where he caught a couple of small ones but when he was fishing around some of the "fish motels" in the lake,he landed a 74cm cod.Which shows the benefit of having them in the lakes because there have been several cod caught around the structures in both Boga and Kangaroo lake this year.
And a good size silver perch was landed from the bank during the week.

This weeks photos:
- Ben Spicers catch of yellas
- Mikaela's first fish(well done)
- Quenton Davis's Lake Boga cod-and if you want to have a go at me for posting a pic of a cod=go for it!!!
- A good size Silver Perch from Lake Boga.

Until Next Week JC
