Report 9/11/18

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Nov 09, 2018 11:32 am

Once again not a great week weather wise but there were a few fish caught outside. If you can get down to Fish Rock there are some big King Fish around with a number over the 15 kilo mark. Off the Jail Mowies are in numbers with a few Snapper in the mix. Up around Grassy fisho’s got amongst some Snapper and Pearlies with a few Trag starting to shop up. With the conditions as they were no one ventured out to the wider grounds to hit the Dollies and the odd Pelagic that were starting to show up last week.
We have had reports of cracker Whiting coming out of the river but it seems up river is holding better stocks of the tasty fish. Flathead are a hit and miss thing with a few coming in from Clybucca up to Fisherman’s Reach and around Jerseyville. I think the creeks are a better option at the moment flicking a few plastics. The North Break Wall has been slow with a few Flathead and Schoolie Jew caught. Around the Boat shed Bream are in numbers off the cleaning table.
Rock hoppers had to contend with the bigger seas through the week for a few Bream, the odd Tailor and smaller Kingfish. The Gutter fished well for Bream and Tarwhine.
There were Whiting and Flathead off Back Beach last week but there’s a lot of water between them. Main Beach around the Boulders produced some nice Bream on the full tide. Smoky Beach was hard to fish with rising sea but a few boys got amongst fair Bream and Whiting.
