Report 23/11/18

Better conditions through the week saw numbers of fisho’s hit the water with some very good results.

Off Grassy Pearl Perch were in better numbers with some good Snapper and Tuskies in close and out in about 50 meters. Also up north in some pretty warm water Yellowfin were caught. Out at the FAD Dolphin Fish are active with a few Cod coming up in the deeper water. In front of the Jail there were a few Snapper and Mowies off the Dot. Fish Rock has been producing some really good Kingfish over the last few weeks but you need to beef up your gear to turn some of these fish.

There are some cracker Flathead in the river at the moment with good numbers up river to Smithtown with some quality Whiting. You will also find them around Jerseyville along the drop offs eager to jump all over a Plastic or a hard body lure. Clybucca through the Cut has been productive for Whiting while a bream or two can be found around the oyster racks. We had a few reports of Jewfish off the North Wall last week with some big Flathead caught. Remember the new bag, Jewfish over 70cm and bag of 1only.

Smoky and Gap Beach fished well through the week with some nice Whiting and Dart coming out of the surf. Main Beach fished a little slower for Whiting with more swimmers hitting the beach.

Take care on the Bars
