Eildon:
73.33% down 0.70% this week
Fishing: 9/10.
No shortage of Redfin and yellowbelly at the moment! The Delatite side of the lake has been fishing well the last week with cricket scores of Redfin caught and a fair few yellas. Most of the anglers I have talked to have caught most their yellas amongst the trees using worms and frozen shrimp. A few have been caught trolling small profile deep diving lures and smaller Spinnerbaits also trolling. A few have also been caught while flicking blades and small plastics for the Redfin. The Redfin are going nuts at the moment. Once you find a school of fish it’s pretty much game on. There hasn’t been much that hasn’t worked the last week with most coloured plastics catching fish and same goes for blades. It’s basically locating the fish has Been the hardest part. Most points have been holding fish as has flatter bays. It’s just a matter of cruising around and utilising your fishfinder. One thing I will add, if you catching consistently smaller fish don’t be afraid to throw a bigger plastic down and don’t strike when your getting the little taps. Wait for the lure to be picked off the bottom and lay into them.
Lake Nillahcootie:
93.47% down 2.29% this week.
Fishing: 7.5/10.
Nillahcootie continues to keep most anglers happy, not as good as previous weeks but the lake is starting to drop so we may see some changes. Trollers are continuing to pick up cod on Spinnerbaits trolling along with stumpys, codgers and oar gees. The yellas have been very consistent in the 55mm Codger, size 3 stumpy and the 50mm rmg poltergeist. Colours have varied but white, pink/purple and red have been good. Baitfishing has been ok off the bank with worms and shrimp being popular. A few boaters have anchored off point and have done really well on the yellas and Redfin with shrimp.
